Are You a Priority in Your Own Life?

How’s your love life?  What do you think of when you hear those words? Does your mind go straight to your marriage or partnership, or your desire to establish one? Those relationships are critical but this week it is time to give some attention to your relationship with yourself.

 

With the 2020 pandemic, many people are juggling working from home with distance leaning for kids and a steep decline in time for themselves. Self care is more important than ever during this grand unexpected experiment. 

 

Make sure you are setting aside time for yourself. There’s a reason those flight attendants remind us to put on our own oxygen masks before assisting others. When we try to do things for others before giving ourselves the care we need, we’re less able to be present, loving, and supportive to the people we care most about.  Make appointments with yourself this week. Block off time on your calendar to do something you enjoy. You may need to get up before others in your household to make this time but I assure you it will be worth rising early. Make time this week for a bit of self care and see how powerful the benefits can be.
