Longevity through Community
Recent studies have determined that, contrary to popular opinion, diet and exercise are not the the only critical factors in determining wellness and longevity, community plays a huge role. Simply put, people with strong social connections live longer, happier, healthier lives than those who are more isolated.
So often, as we grow older, we find ourselves in relationships that have become stale and tired. We often keep people in our lives because those relationships are familiar and comfortable, even after they are no longer meeting our needs. It doesn’t have to be that way. When we create new bonds with like-minded friends who share common interests, our relationships serve us. We are more fulfilled. We feel safe and cared for once again and that, in turn, enables us to care for others. All of our interactions become deeper and more meaningful.
